It's hard to wake up, try these tips first

Difficulty getting out of bed in the morning becomes a problem for many people. The body feels weak plus the eyes like glues, making getting up very hard to do. Difficulty getting out of bed can be overcome by changing lifestyles. Have you experienced a lot of alarms installed in a loud voice, but still difficult and lazy to wake up? Difficulty getting out of bed is not only a waste of time, but also can make you late for your activities. Some of the steps below might help you overcome the habit of waking up.

Get to know your own body clock

The body has a biological mechanism to regulate sleep time. To signal that the body needs rest, body temperature will decrease and the heart rate will slow down. In addition, the body will release melatonin into the bloodstream at least 1 or 2 hours before your usual bedtime. This process will peak at 3-4 in the morning. After that, the body will start the process of waking up. At 4-6 in the morning, most people are actually sleeping soundly. Waking up at these hours also feels very difficult. If your sleep schedule is chaotic or inconsistent, all this time you might have trouble sleeping naturally. To be able to overcome insomnia, you must be able to sleep easily. You do this by sleeping and waking up at the same time every day, with a duration of sleep between 7-8 hours. For example, if you have to get up at 5:00, try to start sleeping at 9 pm. Do this consistently (even on weekends) for several weeks to get the body accustomed. However, there are also people who need less or more than 8 hours of sleep every day. Everyone's body sleep patterns are different, so it is recommended to adapt them to their individual needs.

Have determination

So that getting up early doesn't feel difficult, try to implant deeply why you have to get up early. Do you have to work? Take care and take the child to school? Making time for breakfast while talking with family? Sports? Or various other reasons? Strong determination is like a natural alarm. If you have a strong determination plus the body is used to it, you will not be hard to wake up.

Don't Touch the Snooze Alarm Button

Set an alarm so that you wake up at the last minute so you won't be tempted to go back to sleep. If the alarm distance and you are so close that the snooze button can be reached very easily, you will definitely fall asleep again for a few minutes. You are advised to put the alarm away from the bed, because when the alarm sounds, you are forced to get up and walk to turn it off. But if you really have a hard time getting up despite having set up a lot of alarms with a loud voice, ask for help from family or friends to wake up until you really wake up.

Sports

To improve sleep quality so that you do not need to wake up from sleep, you are advised to exercise regularly. Choose aerobic sports, like jogging, swimming, or walking leisurely. You can also try light exercise in bed with the following movements:
  • Lie with your legs straight and arms at your sides.
  • Take a deep breath, and lift your right leg so that the foot and hips form a 90-degree angle while exhaling.
Slowly lower the leg and do the same with the left foot. Do as many as two sets, with each leg 10 times per set. You can also exercise at night, but give a minimum distance of 2 hours between your workout and hours of sleep. Exercise can help you sleep more soundly so that you don't have trouble getting up.

Sleep Evaluation

Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, and health problems such as allergies or depression, can cause quality sleep disturbed. No matter how much effort you have to sleep and wake up on time, you will still feel tired in the morning and sleepy throughout the day. For this reason, it is recommended to consult with a doctor so that these problems can be treated. Efforts to get up on time can start from the night before. If you really have a strong desire, the habit of difficulty getting out of bed can be overcome. However, if when you wake up you feel a headache, weakness, or no energy at all, do not hesitate to consult a doctor, because that could be a symptom of certain diseases.
